       With the development of high technology, Internet is more and more popular. No matter children or the old know how to search the Internet. The emerging of the Internet bring a lot of benefit for people, while people also find it bring harm to them generally.

       First of all, Internet brings much convenience and a colorful world for people. With Internet, people can buy all the things at home, search various information, make friends with people from all the world and so on. Without Internet people can’t have those benefit. Moreover, as there are a lot of people shopping on line, the need for couriers is increasing. This bring employment opportunities to many people. However, Internet also bring disadvantages for peole. As the Internet is wonderful, many people are addicted to it. Some indulge in playing computer games and neglect study or job. Besides, because people can touch different kind of information online, they are easily learn some bad messages, which is bad for their growing.

       To sum up, everything has two sides. Internet also has advantages and disadvantages. But as far as I’m concerned, Internet has more advantages than disadvantages if people use it in a proper way.

       To argue, let’s look at the advantages first. Many of us would check and send emails while surfing the net to keep in touch with others. Just by a knock at the keyboard, we can read virtual newspapers and magazines, conclude transactions, or even enjoy movies on line without leaving our home. After a day’s hard work or study, we may make full use of the internet to chat or play games for recreation. To conclude, internet has already become a part of our life and we can hardly live without it.

       There are mainly three points in the disadvantages of internet. Firstly, internet is very addictive, and not a few people, especially school children, are hooked on it. Isolated from the reality, they immerse themselves in the cyber bar all day long, and become chat-room fans or game players, which would affect their health and study. Secondly, there have been many reports of occurrences when two strangers who meet on the internet step into the real world. And recent reports say that most victims of offline meetings are girls aged 12-24. Thirdly, junk emails are pouring into our email boxes daily. In addition to sending us advertisements, they would sometimes send us harmful things like pornography, no wonder lots of elementary schools here prevent their pupils from entering the net cafe.

       However, I think the fault is not internet itself, but its users. Surely we would benefit a lot if we can use it fully. A sound approach is to make a plan before we enter the cyber cafe. In other words, we need to decide what we do and how long we stay there ahead of time. When the time is up, we shouldn’t hesitate to quit. Meanwhile, I insist that those who surf the net regularly cut their net activity. Besides, we need to resist temptation.
